Peristeri B.C.

Peristeri B.C. (Greek: Gymnastikos Syllogos Peristeriou KAE), is a Greek professional basketball club that was founded on October 22, 1971. The club is located in Peristeri, Greece, which is a suburban municipality of the city of Athens. The team competes in the Greek A2 Basketball League.
==History==

In 1983, Peristeri Athens won the first place of the second division of pro Greek basketball, the Greek A2 League. In 1989, Peristeri again won the A2 Division Championship, for the first time while competing under the Greek League's current competition format. In the following season of 1989–90, Peristeri played games for the first time in the top Greek League.
In the subsequent years in that era, the team was very successful, and many well-known basketball players played for the club. During this era, Peristeri competed in the 3rd-tier Korać Cup 7 times (in the years 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2000). Well-known players such as Marko Jarić, Milan Gurović, Angelos Koronios, Michalis Pelekanos, Kostas Tsartsaris, and Alphonso Ford played for the club in this era.
In 2001, led by the great scorer Ford, Peristeri finished in second place in the Greek League in the regular season. The club also competed in the 1st-tier Euroleague competition during the Euroleague 2000–01 and the Euroleague 2001–02 seasons. In 2003, Peristeri competed in the 4th-tier FIBA EuroCup Challenge. In the year 2004, the club played in the 3rd-tier FIBA EuroChallenge.
Following the 2003–04 season, Peristeri was downgraded to the Greek B League, due to great financial troubles within the sports club. For the 2007–08 season, Peristeri Athens returned to the A2 Division, after finishing in second place in the Greek B League in the 2006–07 season. Cezary Trybański signed with the team for the 2007–08 season. In the 2012–13 season, Peristeri was relegated to the Greek A2 League. On account of economic weakness, the club did not take part in the A2 League, and instead competed in the Greek B League (the 4th division and third national league of the Greek basketball league system).〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.sport-fm.gr/article/basket/sti-b%E2%80%99-ethniki-to-peristeri/684332 )
In the 2014–15 season, Peristeri finished in the 4th place of the 1st group of the Greek B League. Nevertheless, due to the withdrawal of Panionios, Peristeri was promoted back to the A2 League, as they replaced Panionios in the competition.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.sport-fm.gr/article/basket/stin-a2-to-peristeri-sti-b%E2%80%99-o-paniwnios/3109065 )
